UP ALUMNI ASSOCIATION (Cagayan de Oro)

The main idea behind putting this website up is to connect all the UP graduates residing, working, serving, playing, or even just visiting the City of Cagayan de Oro and the areas around it.

The UPAA Cagayan de Oro Chapter has recently been revived after decades of silence. Thanks to the Centennial Spirit of last year.

Four Simple Goals drive the UPAA CDO chapter:

To organize the members' collective efforts in assisting their Alma Mater in the fulfillment of its academic mission as a world-class institution for tertiary education.

To help strengthen the University to play its vital role in the development of Philippine society and of the Filipino nation

To help establish an efficient placement bureau to assist UP alumni in seeking gainful employment where their professional competencies are most suited.

To act as a network of UP alumni engaged in different professions and businesses.

This website offers a few things:

As most are busy to attend meetings, the website hosts a forum where ideas can be expressed and exchanged, virtually at anytime and from anywhere. You will note that the forum is grouped into several areas (e.g., Environment, Agriculture, Sports, Government Service, the Arts, etc). You can join any forum or suggest to create another category. At your option, your personal email box will be notified of any recent postings.

The forum also serves as a think tank. Your Board will be in constant monitor of member concerns and ideas. It is thinkable that projects and advocacies will be borne out of the forum. Sitting as advisers are our City Mayor and our 2nd District Representative to the Philippine Congress, both being alumni themselves. They too will be able to hear out the ideas generated by alumni community. The forum also envisions to invite national columnists from the larger UP community to post their ideas and views to generate more interaction.

Members' profile forms a database of network. It can be accessed by any member of good standing. The database can be sorted by any of the fields (e.g., sort by campus, or by industry, or by course , or by student organization joined, or Affiliations, etc.). The database contains contact details of the members and it is envisioned it can help the members network for whatever needs they may have.

The website has also the ad pages. For a fee, members can post their businesses and advocacies which can be linked to their respective websites. Non-members are welcome to post as well.

Membership can be processed online and dues can be paid online.
